phil and i sat down and watched this documentary last friday. i mean, i know that racism is institutionalized in america and canada, but lord, i wasn't prepared to see what i saw and learn even more about the true history of the degredation of black culture on this continent.

do yourself a favour and educate yourself - watch this film, and understand how much further we have left to go. we need to understand our communities before we can know how to properly raise them up and fight the powers that be.

for my birthday, phillip has promised to get me a new tattoo. i'm pretty excited. for a long time, i just wanted to get a plain, little circle, but since my conversation with jessica a few weeks ago, i've had a revelation.

sometimes life is just so crazy. it brings us things, and reminds us that the world is small. and even though we are even smaller, there are places for each of us.
