paint it black.

so, the fall really hasn't worked out quite the way i had hoped. but, in some respects things seem to have changed for the better.
the holidays are fast approaching and our living room is littered with wrapping paper, bows and lists. it's crazy, but i'm looking forward to chilling out with family and getting cozy/lazy for a bit.
i'm feeling a lot of black, army green, and slim lines right now. pretty much the regular aesthetic but a bit more mature than before. and i want a new tatoo, so i'm working on some designs. we'll see what i come up with.

smoke and mirrors.

sometimes i feel like i have a shroud over my head. and i can't see what's really going on. occasionally i get flashes. but for the most part, my eyes are shielded.
i've been running alot. michelle is going to give me a program so that i can start training for a half marathon this fall. i think i need this.

all this stuff, kicking around.

every time i see something neat, i add it to my little file. maybe i should work on my categorization, because really, it doesn't seem like there is much cohesion here. but whatever.
i can feel summer coming on. the sun is peeking out more regularly. i squint when i go outside. but my hands still get chilly when i'm walking.

crazy crazy. imagine going shredding, wearing THIS. saw it about a week ago and meant to post it, but didn't get around to it until today.

crips & bloods: made in america.

phil and i sat down and watched this documentary last friday. i mean, i know that racism is institutionalized in america and canada, but lord, i wasn't prepared to see what i saw and learn even more about the true history of the degredation of black culture on this continent.
do yourself a favour and educate yourself - watch this film, and understand how much further we have left to go. we need to understand our communities before we can know how to properly raise them up and fight the powers that be.
