dust up.

land sakes! can it be the end of july already??

needs to buy my ass some creepers for fall.

dust bunnies.

last weekend was pretty awesome, but with one exception. the good things that happened were as follows:

* the sun (finally!) came out on canada and warmed my bones
* i lounged with my friends and had lots of laughs
* we watched kids play and skate and ate greasy burgers
* my mom flew in from california and we had some awesome quality time
* i rode my bike a lot and went on lots of walks
* phil and i layed in the grass in the park next door and held hands

the one bummer thing that went down was that my girlfriends' house was robbed. they lost a lot of expensive and (upsettingly) sentimental things. it really sucked. i wish it hadn't have happened, but it did. the upside is, no one was physically hurt. just bruised feelings. we have our health.

made me reevaluate my attachment to material things. i am currently working on cleaning out my closets and shooing away the dust bunnies - going to get rid of the shit i don't need and work on cultivating a small and meaningful collection of what i want in my life. oh, and let's not forget - we're getting apartment insurance!

yaya is throwing a party for her man tomorrow. should be super fun. also, the cheaper show is tomorrow night and i will definitely need to put in an appearance, especially since our darling jessica basically put the entire thing together. i'm just excited that it's friday again, and it's the first weekend of summer.

when phil and i were in california i thought i would have gone crazy with the shopping, but really i didn't find too many things i was that stoked on. hopefully i can dig something lovely out of my closet to wear this weekend.

and i really want to get my hands on a copy of this swedish 'summer camp' movie from the 70's. it's the most beautiful thing i've seen in a while.

just going through some of the pics i've ripped off the interwebs in the past few weeks. it's an unbelievable source for inspiration.. i could just cruise and peruse for hours.

plus, i found a pic from what must have been a couple of summers ago, of me and the crew down at third on a sunny afternoon.. little pangs of joy in my heart. xo.

sorry for the hiatus there, dear readers. it's been a crazy month. my dear friends, amelia and emma, threw me a going away party just before i left vancouver. it was a great-gatsby-inspired end-of-summer picnic in strathcona park, and it couldn't have been a lovelier afternoon.

since phil and i are going to hit up the farmer's market over at trout lake tomorrow, then (maybe) hit up third for gill & amy's respective b-day bbq celebrations, this will likely take up part of our lazy sunday seeing as it's right in our 'hood. ahhh, weekends..

went on two bike rides around stanley park this long weekend!! it was so beautiful and sunshiney, but it got a bit windy around the point - i'm glad i wore mittens.

i can't wait 'til summer!
